Assessment and Evaluation

Assessment and Evaluation are important parts of teaching and learning.  The following are assessment tools that we us during the year in music class:

  • Observation Listening Examples
  • Listening examples
  • Class discussion
  • Participation
  • Rubrics
  • Checklists
  • Pencil/Paper assignments

Assessment is the collection of information about a learner's process and achievement, intended to show growth over time.

Evaluation is how we examine and interpret the information that is collected through our ongoing assessment in order to make recommendations and place a "value"  on the learner's achievement.
